How to convert to spatial photo or video

Feb 18, 2024

With the Apple Vision Pro now out, it would be nice to be able to view our years of 2D photos and videos as Spatial photos and Spatial videos. Without depth or information from two eyes, there's no direct way to convert your photos to Spatial without a tool. Fortunately, developers have been hard at work figuring this out. We found one tool that worked particularly well.

  1. Download Spatial Media Tookit on your Vision Pro or Mac

  2. Select the photo or video you'd like to see as Spatial

  3. If using a Vision Pro, the developer has provided a depth slider to be able to adjust the amount of depth to add to the photo. By adjusting the depth slider you'll see a live preview right in the app.

  4. If converting a video, hit Generate Video which will export the Spatial Video.

  5. Then just hit the share button to share the photo or video. If you save it to Photos and have iCloud sync on, the photo will automatically show up on your Vision Pro. You can also AirDrop it to your Vision Pro or use Messages to send it to yourself or a friend.
